My fitness goals are always changing depending on what I'm currently working on in my yoga practice. This month I am in a 30 Day Ashtanga Yoga Intensive where we practice the primary series six days a week. It is a very athletic, dynamic and rhythmic practice where we do many jump backs and jump throughs, which requires major shoulder girdle, core and pelvic floor strength. My goal this month is to get stronger in these transitions, as well as make it smoother and easier on my body.
Keeping my weight down is always a challenge because I love to eat and I love eating chocolate every day. Haha. Currently, I am finding the length of my arms is a tad too short for a lot of these Ashtanga Yoga transitions and binds... but I am learning to work with the proportions of my body and work harder and reach longer.
I use the Infinity Balls all the time to massage my trapezius, romboids, lattissimus dorsi muscles and all the muscles in my neck after a big day of yoga.
If you have never practiced yoga, I highly recommend learning the correct way to warm up your body and stretch before and/or after you do your sport or your practice. Find a qualified yoga teacher and try some yoga! It will take your practice, whatever it is, to new heights!! You'll learn how to use your body in more efficient ways! When you learn proper alignment for your personal body, then you will learn how to move your muscles easier and then exploration and transformation can start to happen.
